"I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys." (Song of Solomon 2:1)
Bluebonnets are not native to Kermit. They grow as wildflowers in the warmer and more humid Hill Country, 200 or more miles to our southeast. But they can thrive here with enough loving care. These particular bluebonnets are found near one of the front entrances of East Primary Elementary in Kermit, where they are threatened not only by a hostile environment but also by enthusiastic pre-schoolers through second graders.

Ah, a touch of home. I have some bluebonnet seeds, but don't know just the best way to plant them here in the frigid north.
Benjie: Consult a professional, I would guess. Thank you for reading!
