Next year my wife will be teaching at a different campus, because both of Kermit's elementary schools will merge into one.
Below is the East Primary Elementary School building ( pre-K through second grade ), now in its last year of service.
The other elementary school is Purple Sage, which covers third through fifth grades.

Below is the new Kermit Elementary School, now under construction, which will serve grades pre-K through fifth grade. Some Kermit residents deny that this construction is even happening, but here's a picture!
The transition and combination of the two campuses are bound to be challenging, as transitions usually are. Read more about it all here.

So what will happen to the old school buildings?
Thanks for posting these pictures from Kermit! I never lived in Kermit, but used to live in Muleshoe. My parents live in Pecos, so whenever I traveled from Muleshoe to see them, I went right through Kermit, and always noticed the elementary campus right on the main road through town. I knew I was getting close to I-20 once I went through "Frogtown". Thanks for the nice memory!
Muleshoe...watermelon town!
Granny: The old buildings will be demolished, I'm sorry to say. They are keeping the high school band hall and the junior high campus. Thanks for reading!
David: Thank you for reading! I've been to Muleshoe and I go to Pecos often. Stop by again and I'll keep you up on what's happening in these parts!
Anonymous: Watermelon town?
Hey David,
Yes, my dad does have articles featured in Pueblo de Dios. I think they print his monthly church bulletin articles. Funny you've seen that. It's a small world!
My family used to say the best watermelons were grown in Muleshoe,TX. So if Kermit is Frogtown, then Muleshoe must be Melon town!
Anonymous: See, I learned something new today!
